Cách viết bài Writing Task 1 – Process/ Diagram
Đoạn 1: Introduction
Như các dạng bài Task 1 khác, đoạn mở đầu của bài luôn bắt đầu bằng câu paraphrase đề bài được cho. Hãy viết lại đề bằng 1 câu sử dụng ngôn ngữ, cấu trúc của mình, tránh những từ ngữ đã xuất hiện trong đề.
Các cấu trúc sử dụng ở phần này:
- The chart/ diagram (shows/ describes/ illustrates) how +clause
- The production of…
- The process of producing/ making…
- How…is produced/ made.
- Show how to produce/ make…
- At the first stage of …
Đoạn 2: Overview
Một trong những bước quan trọng của bài là tìm kiếm được chi tiết nổi bật để đưa vào phần Overview. Có rất nhiều phương pháp viết Overview hay, tuy nhiên, cách đơn giản nhất là giới thiệu ngắn gọn trình tự của process, bắt đầu và kết thúc bằng bước nào.
Các cấu trúc có thể sử dụng ở phần này:
- There are …. main stages (steps) in the process/in the process of producing…, beginning with… and ending with…
- The … involves …main steps/stages beginning with…and finishing with…
- This flow chart provides an overview of…
Đoạn 3: Detail Paragraphs/ Body
Ở đoạn Body này, chúng ta có thể viết hai đoạn để trình bày miêu tả cụ thể các bước của process. Bạn có thể phân chia từ đầu giữa quy trình gói gọn trong đoạn body 1, từ giai đoạn giữa đến cuối quy trình viết cho body 2. Và cũng đừng quên sử dụng từ nối lần lượt miêu tả kỹ từng bước .
Cách xác định giai đoạn để chia phần Body:
- Dạng bài Circular: Với giai đoạn vòng lặp thì điểm đầu của quy trình cũng như điểm cuối. Bạn có thể hiểu rằng một quy trình khép kín thì sẽ không có điểm bắt đầu cụ thể nào. Hãy dựa vào cách đánh số trong biểu đồ để xác định trình tự phân chia các đoạn.
- Dạng Linear: Nếu biểu đồ được đánh số sẵn, bạn chỉ cần dựa vào các số để chia đoạn. Nếu không có đánh số, bạn có thể dựa vào ý nghĩa của quy trình trong bài để xác định các bước và chia đoạn cho phù hợp.

Topic: How a hot air balloon works
Bài mẫu:
The given diagram depicts the mechanism inside a hot air balloon. It can be inferred that the hot air balloon’s operation is dependent on the principle where hot air rises to the top and cool air flows to the bottom.
The balloon itself is called the “envelope”, formed by sewing together “gores”, which are vertical sections comprising even smaller horizontal panels. On top of the balloon is a flap known as a parachute valve; during the hot air balloon’s flight, the valve controls the escape of excessive hot air and seals itself when hot air needs to be kept in. Meanwhile, the base of the balloon, called the “skirt”, is tied to the basket – the balloon’s passenger space – with several strong ropes. The basket’s most crucial parts are its propane cylinder and burner, responsible for providing the ignition that makes flight possible.
In order to fly, the burner mixes propane from the cylinder with air to produce flame and make hot air. As the air inside the balloon becomes hotter, it will rise to the top due to having a lower density than the cool air.

Overall, the tools reveal a noticeable shift in complexity and refinement. Tool A, the older of the pair, showcases a rudimentary and less refined structure, whereas Tool B exhibits a more defined and streamlined shape.
On the one hand, tool A is characterized by its bulky appearance and asymmetrical shape. The front view depicts an unevenly shaped tool with a broad base narrowing towards a rugged point, while the side view displays substantial thickness. Topic: Making sugar from sugarcane

The process of sugar production from the sugar cane plant entails a three-pronged approach that comprises natural growth, followed by a chemical transformation, culminating in the separation of the sugar crystals from the end product. Taking a comprehensive view, it is evident that this multifaceted process entails harvesting, processing, and purification.
The first phase is a natural occurrence that commences with the sugar cane plant’s growth, spanning a 12-18 month cycle. Once the cane has reached maturity, it is harvested using either hand tools or robust agricultural machinery. Following the harvesting process, the stalks undergo crushing via a grinder, resulting in the extraction of raw sugar cane juice.
Subsequently, the extracted juice is directed through a limestone filter and then poured into an evaporator, where it undergoes heating, reduction, and thickening, eventually resulting in a thick, viscous syrup. Thereafter, the syrup undergoes separation from the sugar crystals using a centrifuge, which serves to isolate the sugar crystals from the syrup. Lastly, the sugar is dried and cooled, resulting in the refined granulated sugar as the final product.
